Amazing room for rent :)

Room: $230 per week
Internet & Power: $20 per week
Our Japanese flatmate is returning to Japan on 23 July 2026, and we will dearly miss her. She has been with us for a full year, and it has been great. We had three other Japanese flatmates before her, and Yoko has been living in this same large unit that we are residing in now.

For rent is a lovely double bedroom in a great location. The unit is an old-style villa, fully secure, with two amazing professional couple neighbours. There are no floors above us, so there is no noise from above, and the windows are double glazed.

The unit is exactly above a bus stop, five minutes’ walk from Cuba Street and its restaurants and cafés, and 15 minutes’ walk to Courtenay Place and all its restaurants and bars.

The unit and bedroom are fully furnished, so you only need to bring your bags. The room has a built-in wardrobe, a double-size bed, and a bedside table. The unit also has unlimited high-speed fibre internet.

Also, this house has two full bathrooms. Therefore, the flatmate has a bathroom that is very close to her bedroom and almost always available, because the family mainly uses the other bathroom. The bathroom that the flatmate uses is slightly bigger and has a nice bathtub.

This place would be ideal for a female professional who would appreciate the size of the room, the modern kitchen, and the location for work. We could also consider a responsible full-time student.

About us: We are a full-time professional couple with two kids, aged 4 and 7. One goes to childcare full-time during weekdays, and the other goes to school full-time as well. Hence, the reasonable rent and weekly utilities cost.

We treat this unit as our home, and we treat our flatmate as a family member, with all the respect that we have for our family members. We expect our potential flatmate to do the same.

We apologise, but we do not usually invite friends around to the unit, as having three adults and two kids makes the place nice and comfortable for us all as tenants. We usually try to meet friends outside, and there are plenty of cafés around. Occasionally, we may invite friends, but that is rare, and we inform each other in advance.

Please send Yoko-san a query, and we would be happy to meet you and organise a viewing of the place, and for you to meet us.

We are advertising here because, for over three years now, we have had a very positive experience sharing our home with Japanese flatmates. The lifestyle, respect, and home habits have suited our family very well, and it has been a lovely experience for both sides.

As this is the home we live in with our children, finding someone who feels comfortable with our household rhythm and way of living is very important to us. We would be especially happy to welcome another Japanese flatmate who is looking for a calm, respectful, and family-style home.

Also, please feel free to ask any questions. Thank you so much.
